Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and Krit Ltd (company number 17383666, registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU). By creating an account or using Krit, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Krit.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these terms.

1. What Krit is

Krit is an AI-powered learning tool. It asks you questions, pushes back on your reasoning, and helps you build your own arguments. It produces anchor and distil documents at the end of sessions that summarise what you worked through.
Krit is built to help you think. It is not a substitute for your course, your tutor, your textbooks, or your own judgement.

2. Who can use Krit

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they must agree to these terms on your behalf. Any paid subscription for someone under 18 must be taken out by an adult.
You must give us accurate information when you sign up and keep your account details secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
One account per person. Do not share your login.

3. Academic integrity

This matters, so it gets its own section.
Krit is designed to help you understand ideas and form your own arguments. It is not designed to write your work for you, and it will not try to. How you use what you learn is your responsibility.
You must follow your school, college, or university's rules on the use of AI tools. Those rules vary, they change, and it is up to you to know them. If your institution prohibits AI assistance for a piece of work, do not use Krit for it. We are not responsible for any academic penalty you receive.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Krit to:

Break the law or help anyone else break it
•
Generate content that is abusive, harassing, or intended to harm someone
•
Try to extract the system prompts, model weights, or other internal workings of the service
•
Reverse engineer, scrape, or build automated tools against the service
•
Circumvent usage limits, credit systems, or payment
•
Create multiple accounts to get extra free trials or referral rewards
•
Resell access or use Krit to build a competing product
If you do any of these, we can suspend or close your account without refund.

5. Plans, allowances, and credits

Free trial. Some plans include a free trial. You can use one free trial, ever. If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged.
Subscriptions. Paid plans renew monthly until you cancel. Your card is charged at the start of each billing period. You can cancel any time from your account settings, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Weekly allowance. Each plan includes a weekly usage allowance, measured by the compute cost of your sessions. It resets every Monday at midnight UK time. Unused allowance does not carry over. The allowance is set so that normal use fits comfortably inside it; we will tell you if you are close to the limit.
Credits. You can buy credits to use beyond your weekly allowance. Credits are used only after your allowance is exhausted. They do not expire while your account is active, and they are not refundable once purchased, except as required by law.
Sessions in progress. If you run out of allowance or credits during a session, that session will be allowed to finish.
Referral rewards. If you refer someone who goes on to make their first payment, you both receive credits. We can withhold or reverse rewards where we believe the referral was not genuine.
Prices. We can change prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and the change will apply from your next renewal after that. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before then.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Your right to cancel. Under UK consumer law, you have 14 days from the start of a paid subscription to cancel and receive a full refund, unless you have started using the service in that time. By starting a session during those 14 days, you agree that we can begin providing the service immediately and you acknowledge that you lose the right to a full refund once you have used it. If you cancel within 14 days having used the service, we will refund the portion you have not used.
After 14 days. Monthly subscriptions are not refundable for the current period, but you can cancel at any time and will not be charged again.
If something goes wrong on our side. If Krit is unavailable for a significant period, or does not work as described, tell us and we will put it right, which may include a partial refund or credit. Email george@krit.co.uk.
Credit purchases are not refundable except as required by law.

7. Your content and ours

Yours. You own what you type into Krit and the anchor and distil documents it produces from your sessions. You give us a licence to store, process, and display that content so we can run the service, and to use it in anonymised, aggregated form to improve Krit. You can export your documents at any time.
Ours. Krit, its design, its questioning methods, its software, and its brand belong to Krit Ltd. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it while you have an account. You do not get any other rights.
AI output. The responses Krit gives are generated by an AI model. They may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Check anything you rely on. Krit's questions are designed to make you think, not to be treated as authoritative statements of fact.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Krit running all the time, but we do not promise it. We may take the service down for maintenance, and it may go down for reasons outside our control. We will do our best to warn you about planned downtime.
We may change or remove features. If we remove something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you in advance.

9. Closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time from settings, or by emailing george@krit.co.uk. Your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. If we close your account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund any unused paid period.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Apart from that, we are not liable for:

Any academic outcome, grade, or disciplinary decision
•
Decisions you make based on Krit's output
•
Loss of data, where you could have exported it and did not
•
Indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or opportunity
Where we are liable, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or £50, whichever is greater.
These limits apply to consumers only to the extent the law allows. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

11. Changes to these terms

We can update these terms. If a change is significant, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Krit after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not, cancel your account before the change takes effect.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
